will be included in the Newsletter? (Area 36)
- Will consult with a Delegate or an Area Chair if it arises.
- Always provide disclaimer for personal opinions.
- High sentiment against censorship, it will deter people from
turning in articles.
- What will be the funcion of the Newsletter?

standards or policy procedures to help a new person into the newsletter

newletter out. Newsletter Chair and District Newsletter Chairs.
- Northern Lights has responsibility. Separate -- production --
mailing departments -- no District News Chairs.
- More important to get people interested than worry about
offending someone.
- Sometimes we need controversy to stilmulate interest. It is
our duty as Area Officer to respond.

- Area 52 -- No change.
- Area 36 -- Budget for by Area (As a service expense to carry
the message?) Printed 2300 copies at a cost of $350.00. Mailed
1200 copies at a cost of $300.00 Area 36 has made it clear that
it is your duty as an Area Officer to respond four times a year to
the Area Newsletter.

- Area 35 -- Budgeted $2355.00 for Northern Light.
- Ask groups to have their GSR's write something about their
home group.
- Utilize Newsletter to publish upcoming events.
- Area 35 does like Area 52. Brought to Assembly for DCM's to
distribute to the GSR's .
- Area 36 has to mail them. Too many groups to rely on hand
delivery.
- Need to be discussed in groups.....why? Not reading or
contributing.
- Not necessary for self-support for the Newsletter. Important
as a 'calendar of events' Used as a tool for service.
- Wrote down what committee members said at District Meetings
and e-mailed to them that would would like an article on the
suggested topic they brought up.
