District 7 Report - August 14, 2002

I will start off the District report by saying that the District is in good financial condition. Anne B. is doing a fine job as the District Treasurer. During the month of July we had half the groups in the district contributing. We thank all of you for your support.

This year again District 7 is sponsoring 1 day at the State Fair by providing volunteers to staff the Information booth. We have a new Public Information Chair, Jackson D. who is organizing the volunteers. This is a great opportunity toprovide good information to many different people that might benefit from AA in some way.

Ron T. continues to do a great job for us as our corrections chair. He is continually trying to get everyone interested in the Temporary Sponsorship program. He is also busy organizing volunteers to carry the message to those in correctional facilities. He is currently looking for women to bring meetings into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center. If you are a woman and would be willing to help women in need please contact me or Ron T.

Kay K. keeps us informed to the ongoing changes in AA Literature. We all look forward to the new book "Experience, Strength and Hope."

If you are interested in service or you think you might be interested in service, please contact me. If you are not sure, but would like to do more in AA and just help out feel free to give me a call. My phone number is listed in the Pigeon.

The District meeting is held the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 at Crossview Luthern Church, 6645 McCauley Trail in Edina. Every month we discuss a concept. The month matching the concept. If you want to learn about the concepts or about AA service stop in and join us.

Yours in Service
