Marlys asked for any requests for reimbursement to be turned in so she can do a end of the year report. Checkbook balance was $1010.70.

Has new District Meeting schedules. He talked to the President of the Alano Society in Faribault to get updated schedule of all the meetings currently being held there. They cost $75.00 for 500.

Area Assembly Saturday October 25th in Lakeville.
The Pigeon has the main topics being discussed.
She has General Service Conference reports to take.
Things for GSR’s to take back to their groups is thoughts on locations for Lavina.
And ideas for Holiday party themes.

Didn’t make group conscience due to personal issues, will hope to have a back-up next time.

Would like to know why their meeting is not listed in the paper anymore. Suggestion to call the paper. They had to deal with some internal issues.

He will take it back to maybe host Holiday Party.
He needs to talk to Mary Lou about some of the people in his group not being on the jail/annex list.
His group has some concerns about anonymity with the forms.
They also wondered if the jailers were really asking the inmates if they wanted an AA meeting.<.li>
They wanted Mary Lou to remind the jail of why we were coming in.

His group is out of jail rotation.
Thanked other groups for taking Family Focus rotation last month.
Suggested that members pass on the District schedules more often to deliver them.
They want to target counselors at the schools for the Grapevine, because they may know the students who are headed in the wrong direction.
Members of his group will be there to volunteer in the Hospitality suite at Hiawathaland.
They willing to do whatever for the Holiday Party.
Prison meetings- they would like to see someone from the District talk to the group in need of help with the meetings to see if they would come and do a presentation to shoe us how to do prison meetings.
Are asking people to step forward if they are willing to be sponsors. Also asking people to let someone know ahead of time about a sobriety birthday that month so they can have medallions ready.
First Tuesday of December they will be having a speaker/potluck.
They also discussed adding another meeting night during the week. That was voted down though.
Relationship with Alano is better.

Thought that going person to deliver District meeting schedules better than sending a letter.
Maybe send out a letter with a reply card and then follow up in person.
Grapevine subscriptions- start with public and H.S. libraries. If the District still has funds then the Lavina to the Catholic churches.
They are willing to host Holiday Party.
The group decided to change reimbursements for Friday night speakers from $10.00 to $20.00. They felt gas prices have gone up so reimbursement should also.
Going to have joint meeting with Alanon on January 9th at the Emmaus Baptist Church starting with a potluck at 6:00 followed by 1 AA speaker, and 1 Alanon speaker. There will be fliers later.

A suggestion to have date with year on the flier for Archives.
Third Tradition willing to host Holiday Party and Vision-4-U is willing to organize it.
The District needs to have a theme. Suggestions from groups? Third Tradition Group had “Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Sobriety!” “Tranquility in the midst of chaos.” “Matching calamity with serenity.”
GSR’s need to get 1 person from their group to speak on topic.
Tom H. from the Vision-4-U group needs a District phone list.

Would like to postpone PI Luncheon to concentrate on AAI talks in schools. Has a connection in District 8 who has experience with AAI talks.
Joint workshop with Treatment Facilities? She will have more information next meeting. Consensus of the District was to go for it.
We need to come up with a way to get the Grapevine, Lavina, and the District schedules out.
Use the District mailing address for billing on these issues so they don’t get let go again.
Patty will call Grapevine chair to have him call the school counselors to ask about the subscriptions. Someone would like to see us send to both hospitals. Both hospitals would cost us $75.00. Could bring old issues to the jail/annex. 1 High School in Northfield, 3 in Faribault, and both hospitals at $18.00/yr, would be $296.00 for both Grapevine and Lavina. Start somewhere.
Send District schedules to newspaper so they latest updates.
Could have a list of where they have been delivered so GSR’s know where they have been taken and make sure they are marking off where they are going. Have a committee to head this, any volunteers?
Doug M. and Lois P. will be on the committee and report back in two months.

Family Focus nights are Nov. 5th and Nov. 6th. Vision-4-U will take the 5th and the Center Group will take the 6th.
