576.47 was balance at the beginning of the month.
Rent was paid.
Balance of 592.77 with some contributions at the end.
Question was asked about prudent reserve.
Marlys gave an example of the Thank You letter she will be sending to the groups contributing to the District.
Report then accepted.

Attended Area Assembly March 22nd.
Presentation on AA and Alanon cooperation.
Web presentation. Will be a vote at the June Assembly.
Attended Corrections Workshop.
Attended Delegate’s Workshop April 12th.
Gave Marlys(treasurer) the projected budget for this year.
Expenses 803.30 for the year, this being half of what it would be. Cost would be 1600.00 for commitments if not splitting expenses with the Area. Expenses also depend on location, due to mileage. Flying as needed. Budget is January 2003 to January 2004.

Thank you for the great attendance at the Corrections Workshop. At last group conscience meeting went thru the agenda items. They were well represented at the Delegate’s Workshop. GSR had to resign because of job conflicts.

Averaging 8 or 9 per meeting.
Having great discussions, read paragraph or two and then share.
Hoping to contribute more money eventually.
Is now registered with GSO. Hooray!!
Received letters from Delegate and Area Chair.

Took over as GSR two weeks ago. Replaced someone who had been the GSR for six years. 5 to 8 people attend on a regular basis. Lots of enthusiasm.

Discussed agenda item.
Talked about removing couches at their meeting place.
Decided to remove one couch at a time.
Will discuss adding a meeting on Saturday at next group conscience.
Presented an idea that he got from Area Assembly that they could have one Al-Anon speaker every quarter with a potluck AA and Al-Anon speakers. Al-Anon would pick their own speaker and AA would pick their own.
Asked themselves if others understand why cake night is for home group members only?

5 steady members. Went thru some agenda items decided to participate in Pink Can Plan (envelope). Are willing to fill in for jail and detox commitments.

Approached by an AA member asking why are we updating pamphlets and not the Doctor’s Opinion after 60 years? She told them she thought it was because it was an action that it not be touched but wasn’t sure.
Suggestions on what she needs to do next time a suggestion is given by an AA member is to get it in writing so as to not misrepresent their idea.

In the next month trying to get to all the groups and do a little presentation on the Grapevine.
Would like any extra Grapevines that groups may be willing to let Ken have to leave at groups who would like them.
Any groups that would like Ken to come just talk to him.
Maybe Ken could encourage people at groups to submit to the Grapevine.
Also send pictures of their groups.

Discussed treatment facilities workbook at Delegate’s Workshop.
Two more days set for Family Focus this month. Wednesday the 30th taken by the Center Group.
Thursday open to groups who didn’t have the opportunity last month.
Pamphlet available for non AA meeting guide.
Omada Group in town doing counseling for young AA members, Doug will try to contact.

Committee in favor of having a secondary conference committee take over website. Conscience at Delegate’s workshop for changing all CPC pamphlet’s singleness of purpose statements for consistency reasons.

discussed changing wording and meaning in workbook. Discussed having an oldtimer in Faribault give a history in his experience on tape, as an interview.

Tried to connect with sheriff but kept getting the jailers. They say to be sure to call before coming to give a meeting. Try to remember to have your volunteer applications with when you do go. The main concentration is that you have not been incarcerated in the past year. See Mary Lou W. for more copies. Lance did call because one group missed their time. We are welcome to take meetings to prison in Faribault. Lamoyne S. is going to get more information on this and get back to Mary Lou.

Did discuss agenda items at home group. They did not want the big book on Web site.

48 in attendance. Cost was $100 rent, $62 for the donuts, and $110 for 9ft. of sandwiches. Some collected in baskets, but cost per District was $70.44. We need to reimburse Mary Lou the other $20.44 because we already paid the $50. Some did feel it could have been more detailed. Another District is looking for another District to cooperate on a workshop. Patty told we should wait for awhile. Thank you Lois for speaking. LOIS ROCKS!!!! GSR’s need to mention balance of the District checkbook.
Suggestion to add web site to the directories. www.area36.org only because District has a link to the Area website.
Third Tradition would like to add their website address to the directories.

Duties of Alternate DCM are as follows: back up the DCM when she cannot be present at events. Attend Structure Committee meetings at Are Committee meetings. And make sure directories get to the printers for updating.
Two people are willing to stand for this position, they are Vern F. and Doug C. Voting members of the District are GSRs, committee chairs, and officers. 2/3 of the vote needed. 11 voting members in attendance so first one to receive 8 votes will be the new Alternate.
1st vote Vern had 4 votes Doug had 7.
2nd vote Vern had 3 and Doug had 8, which means Doug C. will be the new Alternate DCM. Doug said a few words.

GSR’s talk about finances with your groups, add in the expenses that are upcoming. Show enthusiasm hoping to create some at the group level. Try to get with Ken, the Grapevine chair to set up a date for him to visit your groups. June District meeting will be the Delegate’s report.Motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Adjourned.
