District Sixteen Minutes

Upcoming events include Hiawathaland, workshops (passes fliers). Next Area Committee meeting is August 10th.

Attendance steady, finances fine. Currently taking men's jail meeting - attendance is around 10, inmates are attentive & respectful.

Family Focus wanted 1 meeting this month, Cornerstone did it. They won't commit for more than 1 month in advance. For August they want a meeting on Tuesday the 6th, Wednesday the 7th, and 2 meetings on Thursday the 8th. Family Focus meeting schedule: Center Group - Tuesday, Vision 4 U - Wednesday, Cornerstone & Third Tradition - Thursday. Can't establish a regular rotation if Family Focus will only commit one month in advance.

Just held the group's annual Gratitude Night last Tuesday. Currently putting on Jail Annex meeting. The group decided to have a Pink Can, the can is mentioned in the meeting but not passed.
Our group conscience meeting has discussed our recent group inventory at the past 2 group conscience meetings.
Two-thirds of our 7th tradition basket collection goes to the Alano where we meet. The Alano asked us to pass a basket to help pay to repair the building's air conditioner, we are and also gave them $100 towards this.

20th Group Anniversary August 9th and 10th.
The group is seeking two time slots at the State Fair PI booth.

Attendance down during summer months. Finances also down.
Currently putting on women's jail meeting. Having no trouble staffing this.

Decision - The District does want to have a Hospitality Room at this year's Hiawathaland. Missy P. agreed to oversee the room.
Decision - The District will purchase two videos from GSO- Bill W. telling his story and Bill W. talking about the Traditions. Considering possibly showing these videos in the Hospitality Room.
Volunteers needed to staff the room during 4 time slots - Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, & Saturday evening. Any volunteers willing to help should contact Missy.

Is the District interested in putting on a workshop like we did last year with District 3?

The PI chair is out of town all summer. We'll wait until she returns to discuss possible PI luncheon.

A new group has started in Morristown, they meeting Saturday mornings. They asked Tom H. how to get registered with the District, he told them just show up at the District meeting.
Anyone interested in starting a Thursday 5 pm meeting in Northfield talk to Todd.
