Minutes for 5-17-01 approved

Decision - The District will send copies of its meeting minutes to the Area Committee and all Area Chairs of committees where the District has a chair.

Treasurer

No contributions last month. The only expenses were rent and xeroxing and mailing of the District meeting minutes.

GSR Reports

Unity Picnic Speaker Topic:

Cornerstone Group - "Family Afterward"
Third Tradition Group - "Sponsorship"
Center Group - "Family Afterward"

Decision - The topic for the Unity Picnic speakers will be "The Family Afterward"

Public Information

Considering October 12th as a possible date for the PI/CPC luncheon. Our groups could be asked to suggest who should be invited to the luncheon.

Cooperation with the Professional Community

Keith R., our Area CPC Chair, will be giving a report at our District Meeting next month.

Will have possible options to consider at the next District Meeting.

Business

Hiawathaland Hospitality Room

Does the District 16 Hospitality Room at Hiawathaland help to carry the message or just give District members a place to hang out?

The room could display the different ways District 16 is carrying the message.

The cost of the room was about $220 last year.
The room helps to carry the message by giving new people a safe place to be with more experienced members. The informal conversations that take place there are part of carrying the message.

Doug C. volunteers to head up organizing the Hiawathaland Hospitality Room

Decision - District 16 will have a Hospitality Room this year at Hiawathaland.

Minnesota Education Association Convention

If you can volunteer at the MEA convention this year, talk to Missy.
