There are twelve service committees of the Southern Minnesota Area. They consist of the Area Standing Committee Chairperson, an Alternate, District Standing Committee Chairpersons and any A.A. members who wish to participate. Each committee has a clearly defined purpose by our Trusted Servant guidelines. The Standing Committees do 3 basic things:

1. Provide a clearinghouse of information and ideas
2. Develop projects in their area of concern
3. Develop ideas to recommend to the Area Assembly for our area or inclusion as agenda items for the General Service Conference.

The Area Secretary will keep a copy of all Standing Committee minutes on file. The Standing Committees meet quarterly, at the Area Committee meetings.
